Welcome from the Early Years Coordinator

Welcome to Early Years!

Early years coordinatorLike all of KISU, our section of the school has excellent facilities—coupled with the latest in modern technology—and is set in a quiet corner of our school site, thereby providing an ideal and conducive learning environment. The children feel safe and independent in their own surroundings, where we have a very strong and experienced team of staff and an excellent teacher-student ratio.

The Early Years program supports three ‘year-groups’, which cater for two classes per ‘year-group’ and it follows the English National Guidance for the Foundation Stage by covering the seven areas of learning:

1.    Communication and Language

2.     Physical Development

3.     Personal, Social and Emotional Development

4.     Literacy

5.     Mathematics

6.     Understanding the world

7.     Expressive Arts and Design

The children are taught through comprehensive and regularly assessed play activities, which are delivered through the children’s interests and exciting themes. Within the classroom, the children also learn the responsibility of caring for their two school pet rabbits- Bob and Benny.

As part of our curriculum, we also offer afternoon clubs, field trips, assemblies, community development activities and end-of-year productions where the students are encouraged to fully participate.

We know we are on the right path of educating today’s children by the mere fact that every child arrives at school happy, excited and motivated to learn. Why not take this opportunity to visit us and see for yourself.  We look forward to welcoming you in the near future.
