School Director’s Welcome

A heartfelt welcome to Kampala International School Uganda (KISU), nestled in the heart of the vibrant city of Kampala. We are a close-knit community comprising families from over 40 nationalities, including a significant number from Uganda itself, with students aged 2 – 18 years.

Situated in the central region of Kampala, KISU is set on a beautiful and spacious campus that has been carefully designed to enrich the academic journey of all our students. From state-of-the-art classrooms and welcoming community spaces in Primary to the specialist classrooms in Secondary, our faculty and students benefit from high-quality teaching and learning environments. Our exceptional recreational amenities align with our superior academic facilities, offering an array of opportunities for students to participate in diverse extracurricular activities. This comprehensive approach significantly enhances their overall school experience.

Our curriculum integrates the British and international education systems, giving students a diverse learning experience that transitions from inquiry-based learning in Primary and an English National Curriculum adapted for our unique setting, to iGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Programmes in Secondary. Our students consistently outperform world averages, attesting to our academic excellence.

At KISU, our philosophy is to offer an education that addresses our students’ present requirements while equipping them for future opportunities. As a torchbearer in British International Education, we take immense pride in our tradition of academic excellence and innovative teaching practices. KISU, through its robust community and collaborative partnerships, delivers a rich and varied learning environment that extends beyond traditional schooling. We provide a myriad of opportunities for students to explore their passions and talents, complementing their academic progress. We firmly believe that the blend of academic and life skills our students gain is crucial for their future success.

Education is our utmost priority, and we’re dedicated to providing a holistic education that prepares our students for success in a rapidly evolving, competitive world. We believe that our students’ academic abilities, resilience, and personal skills are vital to their future success as confident and capable leaders. We foster a nurturing and rigorous environment that encourages these competencies, empowering our students to become proactive and involved citizens of tomorrow.

We acknowledge that every child is unique and has varying needs at each stage of their development. Hence, we are committed to offering an adapted and challenging curriculum, along with an assortment of stimulating additional opportunities to cater to these needs. We take pride in getting to know each child and working with them individually to help them realise their full potential – be it in the classroom, the laboratory, on the stage, or on the sports field.

Welcome to Kampala International School Uganda.

Regards,
